The Japan Bible Society (JBS) presented its latest ecumenical translation of the Bible to Pope Francis on April 10, 2024, during the general audience in the Vatican.

The presentation was done by Rev. Gushiken, secretary general of JBS, and Fr. Kawaguchi, secretary general of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Japan.

A Catholic bishop has been the vice president of JBS, and, at this moment, Archbishop Tarcisio Isao Kikuchi, SVD of Tokyo, holds the post.

The Japan Bible Society, a nondenominational Christian organization, is committed to translating and distributing the Bible throughout Japan.

The National Bible Society of Scotland, the American Bible Society, and the British and Foreign Bible Society helped establish it in 1937.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
