On April 26, Deacon Ravi Teja received his priestly ordination. He is the first Redemptorist priest from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Tenali, Guntur Diocese of Andhra Pradesh, south India.

He is the first member of our parish, Tenali, to get an ordination as a Redemptorist. The ordination of Fr. Sleevaiah CSsR, the parish priest of Tenali, occurred at one of the substations of Tenali parish, his home hamlet of Pedarauvru.

Bishop T. Raja Rao of Vijayawada ordained Teja in the presence of Fr. Edward, the Redemptorist Provincial Superior of Bangalore Province, as well as representatives from various dioceses and religious priests. A sizable contingent of devout people showed up for the event.

"Congratulations on your ordination as a priest, Fr. Ravi Teja!" The faithful of Tenali and his Indian confrères celebrate this historic occasion with him.

"As Fr. Ravi Teja begins his priestly path, may he have this deep bond with Christ. As he ministers to the faithful and shares God's love with those entrusted to his care, let us remember him in our prayers, Sleevaiah stated."

He said, "May he receive abundant blessings in his ministry as a Redemptorist."

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
