April 27, Saturday of the Fourth Week of Easter
Daily Readings: Acts 13:44-52; John 14:7-14

Jesus converted many into believers and the Jews were jealous of Paul's growth and accused him of blasphemy, echoing in the first reading.

Paul and Barnabas turned to the Gentiles to offer eternal salvation when the Jews rejected the word of God. The Gentiles were overjoyed and continued to praise God. The Jews planned to persecute them, so they went to Iconium to preach the good news.

In today's Gospel, Jesus informs the disciples that whoever knows him also knows the Father who sent him. But Philip, full of doubts, asked him to show him the Father. Jesus was disappointed and told him he had been with him for a long time yet he was not fully convinced.

There are times when we doubt God. Just like in the first reading, the Jews rejected the word of God. As with the Gospel, Philip doubted Jesus' proclamation that the Father was in him.

Why do people doubt the existence of God? Is it because they have a weak foundation of faith? Or it is because they don’t believe in God.

In our own lives, have we experienced doubting God? Maybe sometimes, out of frustration, we questioned God: Why is this thing happening to us? Why hasn't God answered my prayers up to this point? We believe God will never abandon his people, as long as you ask for his help.

Call to Action for Catholic Living: We need to understand that  God comes in very mysterious ways. He sent people to guide and assist us, but sometimes we don't realize it.

Lord, help us to strengthen our faith in you, amen.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
