Seek God at All Times

Background Music: Panalangin by Mark Anthony Cuevas

April 15, Monday of the Third Week of Easter
Daily Readings: Acts 6:8-15; John 6:22-29

In the first reading, Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, did great wonders and signs. In the synagogue of the Libertines, the Cyrenians, Alexandrians, Cilicia, and Asia dispute Stephen, but they cannot resist his wisdom.

So they instigated some men to destroy him, saying that he committed blasphemy against the law of Moses and God. They even hired false witnesses to go against him. However, the council of elders viewed him as angelic when they presented him for investigation.

The Gospel for today shows that many people seek to follow Jesus even to the other side of the sea. Jesus told them that they followed him not because of the miracles he did, but because they ate the loaves and were filled.

He challenged them to “labor not for the meat that perishes, but for that which endures unto life everlasting, which the Son of man will give you." God, the Father, has sealed it for him.

Those who followed Jesus can see the hunger for knowing God and working for his works. How about us? Do we still have the emptiness to seek God? Or are we satisfied with our present life?

People are too busy with earthly things, sometimes forgetting God. People only remember God during times of crisis if there is illness, suffering, and difficulty in life.

God invites us to seek Him at all times, not just in the dark but also in the light days of our lives.

Radio Veritas Asia (RVA), a media platform of the Catholic Church, aims to share Christ. RVA started in 1969 as a continental Catholic radio station to serve Asian countries in their respective local language, thus earning the tag “the Voice of Asian Christianity.”  Responding to the emerging context, RVA embraced media platforms to connect with the global Asian audience via its 21 language websites and various social media platforms.
